Twelve + One is a mixed media installation created in remembrance of the Sago Mine Disaster that occurred in January, 2006 in Sago, W.V. After an explosion,the miners were trapped two miles underground without properly working breathing equipment. Twelve miners were killed, one miraculously survived. 2016 is the ten year anniversary of this tragic event. This installation commemorates the event and was installed in the Visual Arts Center in Huntington, W.V. in April 2016.
