Mt. Moriah Methodist Church congregation has depleted and mournfully closed their doors, leaving a small sanctuary and fellowship center abandoned. The following are excerpts from my exploration inside the buildings that reached out to me, yearning to tell their stories once more. Discovered artifacts also combine to paint the reality of rural  population decrease, societal change, and the abandonment culture of Appalachia. History is so much more than dust and rust, and a church is so much more than a building.
